The Practice Facility is the perfect place for players who have the work ethic and passion to improve. We work with various skill levels, from young beginners to established professionals. The common denominator is a consistent drive to get better. We understand there are no shortcuts. There is no replacement for the work. But we also believe having the support and guidance to direct that work makes all the difference. That’s where we excel!

Our 15,000sf training facility offers players every opportunity to improve their game. In addition to our playing courts, we also offer specific training LAB’s. Perfect your shooting mechanics with our Shot Lab. Become a quicker, stronger athlete in our Performance Lab. JOSIAH LAKE

Owner & Executive Director

Josiah played basketball at Oregon State University, graduating with multiple business degrees in 2001. While at Oregon State, Josiah began developing his passion for teaching basketball to kids through team basketball camps. Following graduation, Josiah spent 11 years working for Brand Jordan, where he served as Global Director of Jordan Footwear. While working at Brand Jordan, Josiah still found time to pursue his passion for training players in his spare time.

In 2013, Josiah was able to focus on his passion full-time to open The Practice Facility in Portland, OR. Combining his basketball and business experience, the goal of creating a unique place for players of all ages to pursue their passion was born. In 2017, Josiah was able to expand TPF to China, creating a second location in partnership with Elite Basketball, to bring our elite-level training and passion for the game to players overseas.

SEAN OVERTON

TPF General Manager

Sean played Division I football at Southern University of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree. During his championship playing career, he developed a great passion for helping his fellow athletes in sports performance development. Immediately following graduation, he continued his education through International Sports Science Association and National Academy of Sports Medicine.
For the last 25 years Sean has devoted his time to creating better athletes through corrective exercise techniques. His comprehensive system of corrective exercises has been a key influence to helping hundreds of athletes from grade school to professional.


MARCO WILLIAMS

Program & Operations Director

Coach Demarco “Marco” Williams is a former college athlete with 6+ years coaching 3 in basketball. Marco is constantly looking to improve player skills and knowledge of the game to help them transition to the next smoothly. Marco has been working with The Practice Facility and Team Fly since 2022.


EUGENE TURNER Program & Operations Director

Coach Eugene Turner is a USAB certified coach who has been a basketball enthusiast since age 5. Hailing from Sacramento, California, Coach Eugene made his mark as a point guard at Harriet Eddy Middle School and Laguna Creek High School. With a family immersed in basketball, coaching, playing, and refereeing, Eugene's passion became his path.

Post high school, he mentored budding athletes at the Boys and Girls Club in Hillsboro, Oregon, and briefly played for The Salem Sabres in Salem, Oregon, until injury intervened.

Eugene, a devoted family man with four kids (ages 6 to 16). Eugene channels his love for the game into coaching his own children and others, drawing from extensive experience with various age groups.

His academic pursuits in applied health and fitness, fitness technology, and strength and conditioning, all underpinned by a flawless 4.0 GPA, underscore his dedication.

Off-court, Eugene enjoys basketball, fishing, family time, and hitting the gym. As a coach, he specializes in player development and instilling teamwork and sacrifice. Eugene Turner: a coach who brings expertise, inspiration, and empowerment to the game.


Maxwell d’Auvergne Director

Coach Maxwell d’Auvergne grew up in the Portland area and played high school basketball at Rex Putnam High School. After graduating from RPHS he moved on to continue his education and continue playing basketball at Portland Community College.

After completing his education at PCC Coach d’Auvergne earned a scholarship to play at Arizona Christian University (NAIA DI) where he was part of a top 10 nationally ranked team that made to the sweet 16 of the NAIA National Tournament.

Post Graduation Max jumped directly into coaching. He has served on a number of varsity coaching staff before taking his first head varsity coaching role at Rex Putnam in 2021. In his first two seasons as head coach Max led RPHS to their first state championship tournament appearances in 40 years and won NWOC Coach of the Year in both of his first two seasons. Max has been coaching and working with Team Fly at various levels since 2016
